Support #CleanBuses4Kids at FCPS School Board Meeting

In August we launched #CleanBuses4Kids, an ambitious campaign calling on Fairfax County Public Schools to convert its aging fleet of diesel school buses to zero-emissions electric buses by 2030. Electric buses emit no exhaust fumes and have lower greenhouse gas emissions than diesel buses, even when the source of electricity is accounted for. They have no engine, muffler, or alternator that requires tune-ups, meaning a lifetime fuel and maintenance savings over diesel buses of up to $170,000. They have a lower center of gravity than diesel buses and so are less likely to roll over. They are safer for our kids and cleaner for our environment.

Join Mothers Out Front at the School Board meeting on September 26 to show the Board the community supports #CleanBuses4Kids.

We’ll be out front of Luther Jackson Middle School at 6:15 p.m. Wear your Mothers Out Front t-shirt or a black tee to show you're with us. We'll have our big yellow bus, lots of signs, and petitions for everyone to sign.

When the meeting commences at 7 p.m., join us inside. Some of our moms and kids will be making public comments, and they'll want your support!
