One of the most effective things we can all do to contribute to climate action is to break climate silence: simply open our mouths and talk about climate change to our friends, families, and social networks. Yet many people self-censor out of fear of push-back from contrarians.
In this virtual event, John Cook, research assistant professor at the Center for Climate Change Communication at George Mason University, will supply the tools to talk about climate change, offering a richer understanding of how climate change works and importantly, the techniques and tricks used in misinformation to distort the science.
Then you will hear from our Northern Virginia Community Organizer and the youth group Climate Action PWC who will give an overview of our recent efforts towards clean energy and fossil free schools and discuss how you can get involved during this time of crisis.
