Roanoke Climate Strike Community Art Build

Join Mothers Out Front and our community partners (ARTivism and 1000 Flags /1000 Waters) for a community art build in preparation of Global Climate Strike Week and 2 local strike events happening in the Roanoke Valley on September 22 and 23.

Children, youth and adults are invited to this free event to participate in making water flags and climate strike posters.

Flags will be held as symbolic representations of the 1000 waters that will be impacted by the dirty fracked gas infrastructure development of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline and the Mountain Valley Pipeline in Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina.  Participants are encouraged to attend the two climate strike events on the 22nd or 23rd with their flags. Or they may choose to start their own strike at their school or work place. To find out how to participate in a strike, see the event listings below or check https://globalclimatestrike.net or the resources at 350.org
