The climate crisis will impact us all. But it will have the greatest impacts on frontline communities contributing the least to carbon emissions.
A Community Circle is a safe space in which participants sit in a circle so that all members' faces are visible to one another. Community Circles are used to build community, share resources and organize local grassroot actions through an equitable and inclusive process.
Join Mothers Out Front for our Roanoke Community Climate Justice Circle.
This is an opportunity for mothers, caregivers and others to voice their concerns about local climate justice issues and to learn about and discuss potential local campaigns. Our campaigns are diverse and cater to community needs. Examples include: beyond gas - divesting from natural gas infrastructure and development (pipelines), utility justice - divesting from dirty fossil fuels and investing in renewable energy, increasing public transit opportunities, electric transit and school bus investment, energy efficiency programs and renewable energy programs for low-income households, small business and incentives for larger business and institutions.
