Idle-Free Schools PWC December Meeting
Join us on December 8, 7-8pm to learn about our campaign to make Prince William Schools idle free, and hear updates from moms who are fighting for cleaner air for our kids at their schools!
More info: Did you know that leaving your car engine on for one minute produces more carbon monoxide - a toxic gas - than the smoke from 3 packs of cigarettes? According to the Environmental Protection Agency, "Children are more susceptible to air pollution than healthy adults because their respiratory systems are still developing and they have a faster breathing rate".
When parents wait to drop off or pick up their kids from school they often leave their car engine on (idling), creating a pollution "hot spot" and harming our children's health. We must protect them and turn our car's engine off at pick up and drop-off time.
